HANGZHOU URBAN STAR | RESIDENSES

Part of Kerry Properties’ multi-lot urban regeneration project, these three residential plots have been designed to honour the site’s industrial heritage, while capturing the poetic beauty for which Hangzhou in known.

While each of these three compact parcels serve similar demographics and share common functions, each presents a unique palette of materials, details and plants inspired by three of the ‘Ancient’ Trees of Hangzhou. Water also plays an important role in the gardens, creating a calming effect amidst the busting streets. The design’s rich planting scheme brings biodiversity back into the community, both figuratively and literally ‘breathing new life’ into this once-stigmatized corner of the city.

Together with the residential parcels, Hangzhou Urban Star presents a new model for ‘urban living’ by provided its residents and visitors with the convenience of the city, in an environment that offers the calm, natural respite for which Hangzhou in renowned.
