Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTec) is a visionary masterplan for a smart, sustainable, and inclusive city of the future. Set across 7,000 acres in the heart of Sedenak, Johor, the project reimagines urban development through a lens of environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic resilience. Anchored in landscape-led planning, IBTec aims to embody the essence of a "Perbandaran Berjiwa"—a soulful city—where technology, nature, and humanity are intricately intertwined.

At the core of IBTec’s vision lies a vast, interconnected green infrastructure that informs the city’s structure and identity. Over 10% of every precinct is reserved for green corridors that function as ecological backbones, flood mitigation networks, carbon sinks, and social spaces. These green veins shape rather than follow development, allowing the city to grow around and with its landscape.

The masterplan allocates 1,200 acres to digital and technological industries and 790 acres to research, innovation, and food security. An additional 590 acres are dedicated to mixed-use neighborhoods that embrace contemporary living while preserving ecological function. Sustainable systems—solar energy farms, native plantings, wetlands, and productive landscapes—enable the city to meet Low Carbon City Framework standards and support 14 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Guided by five development goals, IBTec addresses urgent global challenges while cultivating local opportunity. It prioritizes livability and economic vitality, harmonizes infrastructure with nature, promotes inclusivity and safety, and restores ecosystems within an urban framework. A central green spine ensures biodiversity continuity and public access, integrating aqua cradles, native forest restoration, and productive urban agriculture.

From ecological mapping to socio-economic studies, the planning process was data-driven and place-sensitive. A unique Potential Surface Analysis determined optimal preservation zones, ensuring the green system serves both environmental and societal needs. Gender equity, youth engagement, intergenerational accessibility, and climate resilience are woven into every design move—from inclusive sport arenas to shade-rich public spaces.
IBTec is not a city built over nature, but a city co-created with it. Its landscape does not decorate the periphery; it defines the core. This approach enhances land value, supports local economies through urban farming and eco-tourism, and reduces long-term maintenance by embracing local materials and resilient species.

Through its layered design, IBTec becomes more than a blueprint—it is a living strategy for regenerative growth. It embodies compassion, foresight, and innovation.

A soulful city where every street, park, and building is an invitation to coexist—with one another, with nature, and with the future.
